Constructed with blanket weight 95% wool, The Voyageur has the same thoughtful design as our other wool anoraks. Inspired by European-style army blankets, its stripe detailing adds a stylish flare without sacrificing function.

Why a BMA anorak?

Inspired by traditional Indigenous outer shells, BMA anoraks are handmade in Canada with a commitment to provide you with heirloom quality, functional garments. Our anoraks are designed with a focus on thermal regulation– we make them wide and long to protect your vitals and allow for layering. In addition, we think reliability is especially important when out in the bush so we actively avoid using hardware that can fail like zippers and snaps. From the gauntlet to the sleeves to the kangaroo pocket, every detail was meticulously thought out to maximize your warmth and comfort while exploring nature.

The benefits of wool:

- Antibacterial

- Hypoallergenic

- Water repellent

- Fire retardant

- Moisture wicking

- Silent

- Retains up to 80% of its insulating properties when wet

BMA’s Dual Layering System

For all of you layering enthusiasts, we recommend one of our canvas anoraks to be worn over our wool anoraks. While each can be worn on their own, this combined layering system – wool inside, canvas outside – will keep you extra warm and dry. If you are considering two layers, we recommend starting with only a woolie first. Also, remember that your canvas anorak will likely need to be larger than your woolie so you can layer comfortably. For questions or more information about our dual layering system, feel free to contact us before your purchase and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.

I am in love with it. First impressions are thick material but not too heavy , not itchy I used it with just a tshirt ,very good quality strong stitch fits good I would suggest the manufacturer to come with a way to adjust the opening of the sleeves to control the air coming in... ( the only thing i should have added the extra 3 inch sleeves as I'm tall )

10/10 would buy again

First trip camping with this was in Central Washington and I slept through the cold like a champ.
Had a unique smell upon arrival, but I think it fades with use.

Looking forward to winter!

Bought this in July 2021. Beautifully handmade and stitched. Fits perfectly on my 6’2” 250 large frame. I have been unable to test it in the cold but I am looking forward to testing it in the North Georgia mountains and backpacking on the AT this winter. Thanks Andy for all of your help. Customer service was amazing! Great job on making it Francesca!

Fantastic winter wear

The Boreal Mountain Adirondack jacket is my idea of a perfect jacket for fall, winter and early spring wear particularly while hiking and camping. I first ordered the 100 percent wool Adirondack and I loved it but I decided I also wanted the voyager as well and now I can’t decide which one I like best but then I don’t have to decide because I have both. I can’t recommend highly enough. I love these coats. Buy one you won’t be disappointed.

Buy it, stop freezing.

First time I've ever bought something like this. I work as a surveyor, so lots of standing around out in the wind and freezing cold.

I was pretty tentative about getting one, but I'd say my anorak is the best investment I've made in years. It's warm, comfortable and durable. Wear a thick shirt or jumper under it and the wind chill is negligible. It's been a godsend through winter.

10/10; would by again.
